Reporting to the VP of Marketing for Transportation, The Project Manager - Transportation maintains relations between the manufacturing company and the clients to which it sells and distributes. Managing a variety of accounts, the PM will assess new build plans, along with various procedures in the production process. The role requires great interpersonal skills, effective communication and business acumen as the PM will maintain an open line of communication with vendors and clients and customers directly to assess and meet their needs. This role does require manufacturing experience in order to help direct the manufacturing facility for the division. Managing of budgets, and profit targets, reporting and participating in client meetings, contract finalization is of the utmost importance in this role along with but not limited to the essential duties listed below.

1) General Responsibilities:

  • Lead the planning and implementation of project
  • Manage and supervise Inside Sales department
  • Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
  • Define project tasks and resource requirements
  • Develop full scale project plans
  • Assemble and coordinate project staff
  • Manage project resource allocation
  • Plan and schedule project timelines
  • Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
  • Provide direction and support to project team
  • Quality assurance
  • Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
  • Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
  • Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited four-year college or university and 8+ years’ relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required.
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferred.
  • Project Management Certification preferred
  • Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in a position of leadership to include team development and management, required.
  • Glass and Defense industry experience preferred
