eCommerce Content Marketing Strategist

We are looking for a Content Marketing Strategist to join our growing eCommerce team. In this role, the Content Marketing Strategist will work with a cross-functional team that is charged with creating best-in-class content that attracts, engages, and educates consumers, and elevates brand awareness and perception.

The Content Marketing Strategist will own the creation and direction of eCommerce content marketing initiatives across multiple platforms and formats. The ultimate goal of these efforts is to increase traffic to our digital sales channels, increase engagement, improve education, increase retention and loyalty, and improve consumer brand sentiment. Successful candidates will understand how to balance art and science – letting data drive content creation and optimization. To excel in this role, you will need to have exceptional interpersonal skills, strong written and oral communication skills, advanced analytical and planning skills, and be capable of effectively functioning with minimal direction to drive projects to successful, timely completion.


  • Alongside eCommerce and Creative leadership, develop content strategy and direction for digital sales channels, content marketing, and blog
  • Collaborate with eCommerce Campaign Manager and Marketing team to support campaigns and programs
  • Drive traffic to Darn Tough digital sales channels that translates to sales and revenue growth
  • Manage a content marketing budget
  • Measure and report on the results of content marketing activities to inform future marketing campaigns
  • General content updates and enhancements to DarnTough.com
  • Ensure that active content and creative is accurate, current, and consistent across all channels
  • Ensure website content is ADA compliant
  • Optimize content using SEO best practices and available data and analytics
  • Know which platform and/or format different kinds of content are best suited for
  • Prepares, monitors, and reports on key content marketing analytics across channels and campaigns
  • Using tools and analysis available, uncover content opportunities and formulate plans to capitalize on those opportunities to drive traffic and sales

Experience & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s in Marketing, Communications, User Experience, or other related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years’ relevant experience
  • Solid analytical skills, with the ability to use data-driven arguments to prove point
  • Understanding of KPIs, data analysis and reporting as they relate to SEO, SEM, and online commerce
  • Data-driven decision making
  • Hands on experience with SEO and ADA methodologies, best-practices, and/or requirements
  • Proven application of cross-device design that produced best-in-class user experience
  • Experience with Shopify, Content Management Systems, various analytics platforms, and SEO reporting platforms
  • Experience in and advanced understanding of user experience design
  • Experience creating content that engages, educates, delights, and converts customers
  • Extremely collaborative cross-functional team player who is open minded, flexible and willing to be hands-on in the role – from writing briefs to QA to creating and presenting marketing plans.
  • Highly developed verbal and non-verbal communication skills with the ability to develop a clear strategy for inspiring and engaging the audience at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to remain flexible in a fast-paced environment with great time management skills.
  • Solid business acumen.
