Senior Implementation Engineer

What You'll be Doing

  • Develop implementation plans based on customer requirements through active listening skills and the use of astute questioning to understand, anticipate, and respond to customer needs
  • Ensure completion of all implementation targets and project requirements as scheduled
  • Gain customer acceptance by matching the customer infrastructure, policies, and requirements with the product deployment strategies
  • Contribute to the development of service delivery processes to improve efficiency and improve product fit
  • Ensure an excellent customer experience by maintaining consistent and timely communication with all stakeholders and continually strive for maximum customer satisfaction
  • Support user edge cases to ensure student access for non-typical SSO setups
  • Contribute to team efforts by accomplishing related tasks as needed
  • Deliver on-the-ground feedback to the product team to influence the product roadmap
  • Ensure TutorMe achieves and maintains Integrated Management Systems (IMS) certification
  • Assist the Engineering/Operations team by identifying problems and developing new solutions
  • Work with customers to optimize existing integrations, processes, and documentation
  • Identify ongoing issues, recommend areas of enhancement and growth opportunities for SSO, LTI integrations, and systems efficiencies in general
  • Assist sales team with providing technical documentation to prospective customers, including responses to RFPs
  • As needed, ensure customers are offboarded securely and effectively
  • Bachelor's Degree; or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ years of experience integrating external tools with school systems
  • 2+ years of experience working with user authentication & systems integration (i.e. Restful APIs, SSO, SAML, and more)
  • At least 1-year of experience with K-12 learning management systems, SSO providers, and related industry standards; 2 years preferred
  • Experience with educational technologies such as Clever, ClassLink, Google Classroom, PowerSchool, Infinite Campus, and Schoology
  • Experience with Student Information Systems (SIS) and Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, and Moodle
  • Proficient understanding of Learning Tools Interoperability (LTI), specifically LTI 2.0
  • Experience with Single sign-on (SSO) frameworks such as SAML and OAuth 2.0
  • Excellent understanding of the technical fundamentals of the Internet, including common protocols
  • Excellent understanding of PostgreSQL and experience with SQL fundamentals
  • Experience working with and/or developing with APIs
  • Strong customer service skills and the ability to work with customer contacts at all levels
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills
  • Must be comfortable in the dynamic atmosphere of an organization with a rapidly expanding customer base
  • Experience with project and ticket management software; Jira preferred
  • Experience with Google Analytics and data visualization software (e.g. Looker) is a plus
  • Previous experience in software product or technical support environments is a plus
  • Experience with educational data structures and database architecture is a plus
  • Experience with Python, Javascript, or Node.js is a plus
  • Experience with containerization technologies is a plus
