Looma exists to connect shoppers to the people and stories behind their products. Our first product, Loop™ At-Shelf Maker Stories, is a network of tablets in grocery stores that play short, human-centric films connecting producer to consumer. The data generated by Loop™ fuels our proprietary storytelling process, forming a flywheel we believe will one day power the world's most sophisticated platform for human-centric point-of-decision video.

Position Description
The Senior Software Engineer is responsible for building the systems that power Loop™ such that we're positioned to scale to multiple thousands of devices in the next few years. They will be a key early addition to a small but growing team responsible for building and maintaining a number of client-facing and internal applications that offer insight into campaign success. This role has the potential to be the engineering team lead, shaping the technical and organizational infrastructure that will carry the company forward.

Responsibilities
Play a major role in taking Looma's products from initial product-market fit to a robust, top-of-class offering, including:

  • Identifying and mitigating impediments to scale and key risks
  • Guiding evolution towards a more rigorous development environment and sustainable development practices
  • Enhancing customer-facing applications for monitoring and optimizing campaign performance
  • Implementing device-driven ways to enrich Looma's consumer dataset
  • Supporting scaling operations by expanding tools for device management and monitoring, along with content deployment

      Stack
      While our existing systems are fairly nascent and this role will have significant influence over our tech stack, familiarity with some components of the existing stack is preferable.

      • Databases: PostgreSQL, BigQuery, Firebase, Firestore
      • Languages: Go, TypeScript / JavaScript, Kotlin
      • Frameworks: Angular 2, Apollo GraphQL
      • Deployment: Google App Engine, Docker
